living wall ix

albany school of the humanities 2022

In May of 2022 I worked with with Amanda Mannatto and her 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at the Albany School of the Humanities to create a living wall for their school. Every student learned about the magic of wool, about fiber arts and how to create sculptural fabric from wool fibers, water and soap. Students created leaves, flowers and felted stones that were then sewn together into a cohesive garden at my studio. The final piece currently hangs in the office at the school.
